SOLAR FORTUN Winery is located up in the hills of Guadalupe Valley – Solar describes a plot of land in Spanish and Fortun is the area of the Valley. Javier is brother of Santiago who is the winemaker. This is a family affair and they presently produce approximately 3,500 cases but plan to ramp up to 5000 cases, which is the total capacity of the vineyard. They produce only Estate wines, so they don’t buy their grapes from other vineyards and produce primarily single varietals. All French clones from Napa. Expect a long one-way dirt road to get there and they have 3 German Shepherds at the entrance.
